Matt Mochary’s coaching business and technique, Mochary Method, has made a name for itself in Silicon Valley, mentoring CEOs from powerhouses like Coinbase, OpenAI, and Discord. But Matt’s success hasn’t just come from his coaching method alone. It’s come from the company’s ability to transform its teachings into a structured, opinionated software tool that helps its clients run their companies every day — all using Bubble.
To build the platform, Mochary pivoted to no-code and Bubble’s Enterprise plan after frustratingly slow custom code development. Their pivot was powerful: The company scaled from five traditional developers to just one Bubble Developer who brought their ambitious software to life in just two days — saving $600,000 in costs.

Seven traditional developers to one Bubble Developer

When Founder Matt Mochary started coaching CEOs, he realized there was a pretty common thread throughout all of their stories: They needed software that implemented all of his teachings, streamlined company management, and let them run their companies more efficiently.

The initial team Matt brought on to build his vision — what is today an app called Defacto — ballooned to a five-person software development team, a designer, and a project manager. But the development process crawled — each feature took three to four weeks to launch. This wasn’t just slow; it was a dealbreaker for his fast-moving business and busy clients.

That’s when Matt decided to go no-code, bringing on Bubble Developer Bek Akhmedov and retaining two of their traditional developers to help him experiment with Bubble. He spun up an app of his own, Deezign, to convert the custom code’s Figma designs to Bubble instantly, and they were off to the races. Soon, no-code became their tool of choice. “As we started prototyping with Bubble, we got to a point where the tool we built has surpassed the custom code product,” Bek says.

"If our users — CEOs of some of the highest-profile companies — love our no-code product, you have no excuse not to explore Bubble."

The project was so successful that the Mochary Method team found that they could ditch custom code altogether. Plus, they found they needed only one Bubble Developer for the project — the other two developers would focus on building custom plugins. “The fact that we were able to replace our engineering team with just one Bubble Developer really speaks volumes to Bubble’s ability,” he says.

The ultimate time-recovery tool

With Bubble, Bek created an app that acts as a goal tracker and async meeting preparation tool. It streamlines status updates into a simple task: Users record themselves talking about the status, then custom workflows transcribe the recording, arrange it into the Mochary Method format using OpenAI, and return it as a clear and concise update to be read by their team — all designed to give CEOs time back and improve company oversight.
The software prompts users to record pre-meeting updates verbally. The app transcribes these using AI, making them available to everyone to read so meetings are focused, with participants prepared and ready to tackle specific details. Users can also view every participant’s preparation status. During the meeting, users can view and add new content, comment, create action items, and more.

“The software really offloads a lot of time spent in meetings to async and gives people back time. It also gives CEOs visibility into what was discussed in this meeting, what every department is working on, the status of projects, and more. Basically, it’s really our opinionated version of an Asana, plus managing meetings,” Bek says.

Plugins, possibilities, and future-proofing
Bek’s team builds custom plugins for extras that Bubble doesn’t natively support. “We’ve added automation, audio recording, transcription, and more. We even used Bubble to build a Slack app so our users can interact with Defacto right in their Slack workspace, where they’re already spending most of their time,” he explains.

"[When a client] suggests a software improvement, we can build it within a week."

And Mochary Method is still adding features — quickly.

“When Matt coaches a client who suggests a software improvement, we can build it within a week. [The client] always asks how many people we have working on our team, but it’s just me. They are mind-blown that Bubble could do that,” Bek says.

Their ability to work quickly and nimbly translates to real results, too: Since working with Bubble, the coaching company has been able to reduce their churn rate by 300%.

As the app has grown, Mochary Method recently pivoted to an Enterprise plan for the perks of a dedicated instance. “Because our users are very high value, we realized we had to be on an Enterprise plan to ensure redundancy,” Bek says.

Expanding and experimenting with no-code

While coaching remains their primary revenue source, The Mochary Method is continuously onboarding clients into their software ecosystem. Their roadmap is ambitious, with plans to integrate functionality like AI-generated company newsletters, retrieval-augmented generation for leadership insights, and slack-integrated AI assistants that provide comprehensive company updates. They’re also eager to go mobile, too.

As far as no-code — and common reservations about its abilities — goes, Bek says their company is living proof of its power.

“Any company that wants to move fast should test no-code. Hire one or two Bubble Developers and see what they can build. You’ll be surprised,” he says. “If our users — CEOs of some of the highest-profile companies — love our no-code product, you have no excuse not to explore Bubble."
